He attended school in the South Garryowen and Zwingle area and graduated from Wahlert high School in 1. Jack is a US Army Veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the UAW Local 9. He worked as a partner with his Dad, Francis Shanahan, at their service station; for Klauer Manufacturing and retired from John Deere. Jack loved spending time with his family and friends.
You could frequently find him on the side lines watching his sons, nephews and nieces playing sports. Jack was always willing to lend a helping hand and never wanted anything in return. He was preceded in death by his father Francis Shanahan.
